The House

La Maison des Arts St-Laurent is a private residence which dates back to the 19th century. It was originally built for Arba Stimson, the first mayor of Compton, and a prosperous landowner.

The architectural style of this “Connecticut valley coach or porch house” can only be found in the Eastern Townships as well as in the bordering U.S. states of Vermont and New Hampshire.

The Maison des Arts St-Laurent is one of the fine examples of this architecture. It's well preserved charm and style provide an exceptional locale for a warm, inviting and elegant gallery.
